Our Programs
Academic Curriculum
Our preschool curriculum is the Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies. It follows the Early Learning Florida Department and the revised standards that address eight early learning and developmental domains reflecting a child’s expected age-appropriate progress—physical development, approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific inquiry, social studies and creative expression through the arts.
At the elementary level, we aligned our K–5 curriculum with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for language arts and math, as well as the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for science, to ensure a high-quality, consistent education.
We use HMH’s Into Reading, Math GO! and Into Science, all of which are fully aligned with these standards.
Into Reading builds strong literacy skills through comprehension, phonics, and writing. Math GO develops conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and fluency. Into Science fosters inquiry-based, hands-on learning aligned with the NGSS while integrating literacy and math skills. These programs offer clear learning progressions, structured support, and consistent assessment data, enabling differentiated instruction and academic readiness.
Both curriculums emphasize the child’s natural abilities, skills and aptitudes, developing and nurturing them in a way that encourages the development of new and inherent talents. Our program builds on the child’s experience and prior knowledge because our experience and research has shown that children are better at constructing their own knowledge than we are at teaching it. Therefore, guiding them through the different stages of knowledge is one of the ways we ensure that they receive the best education.
Differentiated approaches by age or groups:
Infants (3–12 months): “Learning with love.”
Following Florida Early Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum, our infant program focuses on building strong emotional bonds, sensory exploration, and predictable routines. Each moment as feeding, cuddling, tummy time; is an opportunity to build trust, cognitive foundations, and motor skills in a loving and respectful environment.
Toddlers (1–2 years) “Little steps, big discoveries.”
Toddlers at Shanti Kids school explore their world through movement, language, and meaningful relationships. Using the Creative Curriculum, we provide structured yet playful environments that promote autonomy, emotional regulation, and early vocabulary-building blocks for lifelong learning.
3-YEAR-OLDS “Curiosity with purpose.”
Our 3-year-old program nurture curiosity with intentional play-based learning to support child-led exploration in literacy, math, the arts, and social-emotional growth. We build on children’s interests while gently introducing routines and responsibilities, helping each child grow with joy and confidence.
VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten): “Ready to learn, prepared for life.”
Our VPK program meets Florida readiness standards while embracing Creative Curriculum’s
whole-child approach. Children strengthen phonological awareness, early math, and self-regulation skills, preparing them socially, emotionally, and academically for kindergarten.
KINDERGARTEN “Learning with purpose and joy.”
Kindergarten at Shanti Kids school combines the B.E.S.T. Florida Standards with our values. Our students develop reading fluency, growing in phonics, comprehension, writing and math. We foster resilience, empathy, and a love of learning in every child.
1ST GRADE: ““Building fluency and friendships.”.
First graders engage in phonics-based reading, narrative writing and problem-solving, while exploring real-world math and science. Social-emotional learning is integrated daily, helping students build resilience, responsibility, and positive relationships.
2ND GRADE: “Expanding knowledge and independence.”
Our students apply reading, writing, and math skills in complex tasks. They learn to express ideas clearly, collaborate respectfully, and take challenges with creativity and confidence; all within a values-centered environment.
3RD GRADE: “From foundations to mastery.”
Third grade students in shanti Kids, mark the shift to critical thinking, research, and evidence-based writing. Students deepen math reasoning and comprehension while practicing leadership, empathy, and goal setting in the classroom and beyond.
4TH GRADE: “Inquiry, innovation, and integrity.”
4th graders engage in interdisciplinary projects, debates, and deep reading. The B.E.S.T. Standards guide students to refine academic skills while our core values foster respect, responsibility, and a growth mindset.
5TH GRADE: “Leaders in learning and community.”
Fifth graders synthesize complex content across all subjects. They develop strong writing, collaborative problem-solving, and presentation skills. As role models in our center, they prepare for middle school with confidence and character.
